Call for reviewers
The International Journal of Education (IJET) is looking for qualified referees to help review the increasing number of manuscript submissions we have been receiving. IJET reviewers typically hold a terminal degree in educational technology, instructional design or another educational field of study and have a publication record in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. IJET employs double-blind peer-review procedures and uses an online editorial management system to streamline the process.
IJET publishes original research, literature reviews, implementation and evaluation studies, and theoretical, conceptual, and policy papers that contribute to our understanding of the promise and issues associated with the role of instructional design and technology in education. The journal covers all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of instructional processes and technologies aimed at increasing access, affordability, and outcomes for students.

About this journal
The International Journal of Educational Technology (IJET) is an online, academic journal that adheres to the highest standards of peer review and engages established and emerging scholars from anywhere in the world.
IJET is a peer-reviewed, online publication addressing the scholarly use of multimedia resources in education. The first issue appeared online in July 1999 (Journal's old web site). The journal is now seeking manuscripts for its upcoming issues.
IJET is formally published four times per year however individual articles are made available immediately after peer review.
IJET welcomes papers on all aspects of the use of technology to enhance learning. We invite submissions which build on contemporary debates such as:
- The ways in which digital media interact with learning environments, educational institutions and educational cultures.
- The changing nature of knowledge, learning and pedagogy in the digital age.
- How new learning opportunities are facilitated through learners engagement in the production of media and in authoring processes previously only available to professionals.
- How educational practices in local, national and global contexts are being transformed by technical developments and innovative practices such as converging media or new ways of working with technology.
- The implications for formal education of the increasingly widespread use of media and technology in homes and communities.
- How Web 2.0, Web 3.0, and semantic web developments are supporting learning and/or teaching in a range of contexts.
- How individuals and communities are personalising their engagement with media, technology and others.
- How media and technologies are changing views of knowledge, learning and pedagogy, and raising questions about authorship and ownership.
IJET publishes fully open access academic articles. Articles and reviews are freely available to all interested readers immediately upon publication.
IJET is an Open Access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of Open Access.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
All articles accepted are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
