Author Guidelines

Thank you for choosing to submit your paper to us. These instructions will ensure we have everything required so your paper can move through peer review, production and publication smoothly.

Manuscripts

All manuscripts are acknowledged upon receipt. Review is carried out as promptly as possible. The manuscript will be reviewed by at least two members of the Editorial Review Board, which takes approximately five months. This is a double-blind review process; please be sure that your name does not appear anywhere in the manuscript or in the filename. To allow anonymous refereeing, all submissions must be properly formatted for blind reviewing. Authors' names and institutions should be provided in a separate file, which will be submitted alongside the manuscript. The full postal and email address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should also be included.

Peer Review Policy
All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

This journal follows a double-blind reviewing procedure, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.

Authors are therefore requested to submit a blinded manuscript without any author names and affiliations in the text, references, or on the title page. Self-identifying citations and references in the article text should either be avoided or left blank.

All contributions will be initially assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final.

Style

The journal uses the American Psychological Association's Publication Manual (6th ed.) style guide. Please be aware that articles without appropriate style usage in text and references will be returned to the author without review. Please organize the manuscript in four sections: Introduction to the Problem (review of the literature, theoretical framework and research questions), Methods, Results and Discussion. The length of submitted manuscripts must be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including the title page, abstract (approximately 100 words), manuscript text, references, tables and figures.

Originality

All manuscripts must be original. No manuscript will be considered which has already been published or is being considered by another magazine or journal.

Article-processing charges

Effective for new manuscript submissions received on or after November 1, 2018:

Open access publishing is not without costs. The article processing charge is US$250.

All articles published in our journal is open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication. As costs are involved in every stage of the publication process, from administrating peer-review to copy editing and hosting the final article on dedicated servers, authors are asked to pay an article processing charge (APC) in order for their article to be published open access under a Creative Commons licence. This is made possible by an article-processing charge (APC) that covers the range of publishing services we provide. APCs cover the cost of publication in the journal; managing and resourcing the publishing process, including peer review, copy-editing, typesetting, production and hosting.

The APC, payable when your manuscript is editorially accepted and before publication, is charged to either you, or your funder, institution or employer. The submitting author must confirm, at the time of submission, that they will organize payment should the article be accepted for publication.

Upon editorial acceptance of an article, the corresponding author (you) will be notified that payment is due.
